If you're going to find a complete recording of a show. If you ever heard the "Top 40 Movie Songs of All-Time", "Top 40 Songs About (subject)", or "Top 40 Summer Songs", chances are it was an evergreen. They were only to be used one week, with the exception of "evergreen" shows- the ones that could be played anytime, just in case the overnight delivery service didn't make the delivery in time with this weeks show.

That said, most of those old shows ended up in the trash after being played. It's nothing special content wise, with the notable exception of being the first time Metallica made it on the Top-40 CHR chart with "Enter Sandman".but it means a lot to me.

I still have the first AT-40 show I ran on KUBE- 5 CDs of Shadoe Stevens doing his thing. If any shows survived, they would be in the hands of collectors or have some sentimental value. That's assuming manglement told them about their plans before loading the dumpster. If the employees were lucky, they were able to grab what they could- limited editions, radio-only CDs, whatever promo trinkets they could get their hands on, that sort of thing. By that, I mean they cleaned out the old studios and all the accumulated old stuff went straight in the trash. Between then and now, many have moved to centralized facilities, and in the process have "trimmed the fat" on storage. Starting in the early 90's, stations started selling and consolidating due to changes in FCC ownership rules.
